The Aeria 5 Pro is a professional grade mattress replacement system indicated for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients at medium to high risk.
The mattress replacement is constructed from 18 transverse cells – 5 inch 120 mm high – that cyclically inflate and deflate in an alternating pattern, situated above a 1.5 inch 40 mm layer of static foam inserts.
Cyclic alternation of pressure prevents arterial and venous capillary occlusion in surface tissue – maintaining and stimulating the flow of blood and lymphatic fluids through these tissues to provide essential oxygen and remove metabolic waste.
Divided into three sections, the foam inserts are encased in plastic to seal out moisture and bacteria, each sliding snugly into a pocket sewn beneath the mattress base to offer an added layer of static support and protection.
This system also incorporates a low air loss feature (six ventilated air cells) to help keep the patient dry and regulate ambient body temperature.
